Employee Assistance Programme

Companies commonly adopt Employee Assistance Programs in order to maintain a productive and effective working environment. The primary goal of an EAP is to ensure the mental health of employees so that they can consistently contribute to the growth of the company. The aim of an EAP is to reduce the amount of time employees take away from work and to ensure that when they return they do so with renewed strength.

More and more insurers now provide additional levels of support either within the standard Private Medical Insurance plan or for an additional charge.

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) extend employee benefits to include 24-hour confidential telephone advice lines for a range of issues including:

  • medical
  • lifestyle
  • childcare
  • homecare
  • bereavement

Services may also include access to professional counsellors with referral and/or face-to-face sessions; this may be especially useful in relation to work-related stress issues. Legal and employment advice may also be available.
